However, we might not want to invest in something large or expensive to only hand during the holiday. If you are wanting to add just a touch of the grotesque temporarily, one of these frightening pre-framed miniatures would be perfect. We have paired a print of this painting with one of our gorgeous wood frames.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/preframed\/the-death-of-marat-prefr-mini-5503504X6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jacques-Louis David-The Death of Marat Pre-Framed Miniature<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>French revolutionary painter Jacques-Louis David immortalized the death of journalist Jean-Paul Marat in the painting, <em>The Death of Marat<\/em>. His use of dramatic lighting and idealized subject give off a sense of tragic sacrifice. Borrowing religious styles for the purpose of political advancement presaged some later modernist ideas and helped cement the historical significance of David, Marat, and this painting in particular which we have paired with the Brimfield Weathered Black frame.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/preframed\/the-scream-prefr-mini-93934X6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Edvard Munch-The Scream Pre-Framed Miniature<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Few paintings are as memorable as <em>The Scream<\/em> by Edvard Munch. This Symbolist masterpiece is a powerful expression of human experience that manages to be both haunting and beautiful at the same time. Swirling colors and abstract figures add an otherworldly quality to the scene.
