Pierre-Auguste Renoir-Young Girls at the Piano<\/a><\/h2>\n

In Young Girls at the Piano<\/em> Pierre-Auguste Renoir portrays two working-class girls, one playing the piano while her friend observes. With the artist’s expert use of spacing and detail, the viewer sees their unmistakable delight in this innocent moment. The painting depicts a playfulness and youthful intimacy that will delight your friends and family.<\/p>\n

Edvard Munch-Three Girls on the Jetty<\/a><\/h2>\n

In Three Girls on a Jetty<\/em> Edvard Munch turned a fairly straightforward naturalistic landscape into a complex layered composition. While the women are on the right, the landscape is on the left and Munch shows us the interplay of manmade construction with nature. Each element weaves in and out of the others, not unlike the arcing road. The painting features a young girl carrying an infant though a field of wild daisies.<\/p>\n

Theodore Robinson-In a Daisy Field<\/a><\/h2>\n

Theodore Robinson, who painted In a Daisy Field<\/em>, was one of the greatest contributors to the American Impressionistic movement. The realism and natural aspects of the scene are visible in the painting, as we can see the girl struggling to lean over to pick a flower, and the infant tugging at the girl’s ear.<\/p>\n

Edgar Degas-Blue Dancers<\/a><\/h2>\n

Edgar Degas’ Blue Dancers<\/em> is another great example of what Degas does best: close-up examinations of dancers honing their craft. The dancers look away, adjusting their costumes or practicing their dance moves in anticipation of their next show on the Paris stage. Each costume and body is vividly recreated with vertical brush strokes, mimicking Degas’ unique style.<\/p>\n
