His flamboyant personality has been a source of controversy, kept alive by Dali&#8217;s own provocative exuberance fueled by critics and the press. The press has always pointed a double edge sword towards Salvador Dali calling him a genius and a mad man at the same breath.<\/p>\n<p>To his defense Dali would have great come back lines for the press and his critics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;The only difference between me &#038; a madman is that I am not mad.&#8221; &#8211; Salvador Dali<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Every morning when I wake up, I experience exquisite joy &#8211; the joy of being Salvador Dali&#8230;&#8221; &#8211; Salvador Dali<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I wanted to share with you some great information that I found about some of the interesting works of Salvador Dali:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"The Persistence of Memory - Dali\" href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/perofmem1.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Dali - Persistence of Memory\" alt=\"Dali - Persistence of Memory\" src=\"http:\/\/site.overstockart.com\/images\/dali1-persistence.jpg\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Dali Art\" href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/perofmem1.html\">The Persistence of Memory<\/a> (1931)<\/strong>. Dali has said that eating Camembert cheese inspired the melting watches: \u201cBe persuaded that Salvador Dali&#8217;s famous limp watches are nothing else than the tender, extravagant and solitary paranoiac-critical Camembert of time and space.\u201d The image of the melting clocks would become a trademark of Dali and would reappear in many subsequent works.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Dali - May West\" href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/iivodimaewe3.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Mae West's Face set as a Surrealist Dwelling\" alt=\"Mae West's Face set as a Surrealist Dwelling\" src=\"http:\/\/site.overstockart.com\/images\/dali2-mae.jpg\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Dali - May West\" href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/iivodimaewe3.html\">Mae West&#8217;s Face<\/a> which is set as a Surrealist Dwelling (1934-36)<\/strong>. The furnishings of a room are transformed into a portrait of Mae West. The soft lips were to become a sofa object for Edward James.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Sleep - Dali\" href=\"https:\/\/www.overstockart.com\/sleep.html\">Sleep<\/a> (1937)<\/strong>.
