Trish Rouelle: Color and Collaboration

Trish Rouelle is an American artist and illustrator who lives in the Northeast. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design, which she began in high school. When she is not creating art, she is developing an educational program to help young children grow their own artistic side. She is a big advocate for arts programs as part of the education system. She spent twenty-four years with education as her main focus, but is now a full time artist and illustrator.

Most of her inspiration comes from the ability to collaborate with others. This gives her work a feeling of flexibility and keeps it from calling into one particular style. Her work is primarily in illustrations for children’s books, which is why her artwork is so bright and colorful. In the past she has worked with many children’s book authors, clients and children themselves to help develop her style. She is comfortable with traditional mediums, as well as creating digital artwork. There is really no medium she would be afraid to try.

Many of her pieces could easily be perfect for a young child’s room, since so much of her inspiration is connected to children. You can enjoy the whimsical settings of the Gondolas or the Red Door. Catch a glimpse of an unexpected character in Lady Reads. Or feel the joy of a musical instrument in Violin. Each of these works is created with bright, joyful colors and a youthful view of the world. Browse the Trish Rouelle gallery to find the perfect piece to brighten up your home.
