Marc Chagall Oil Paintings

Marc Chagall was born to a Jewish family in the Russian Empire in 1887. Very politically active and living through the two world wars despite his heritage, Chagall paintings are hard to classify, but certainly contain symbolic images that portray a story of folk-life, turmoil, and Biblical themes. Some of the Marc Chagall paintings are Cubist and Fauvist in nature, but he belongs to no particular school, and wanted to tell a story with bright colors, beautiful symbols, and emotional images.
