Steve Roberts: Creating a Fantasy World You Could Live In

Steve Roberts is an illustration artist who was born and lives in central Florida. He took classes at the Bradenton Art League and the Ringling School of Art. During this time, he began to sell his art at local galleries, as well as making money airbrushing art pieces on boats in the local area. After school, he sought out adventure by traveling to Alaska where he lived for twelve years outside Anchorage. During that time he mainly worked construction, but still found an outlet for his creativity through commissioned murals and work with commercial advertising. Then, after meeting his wife, he decided to come back to his original home and moved back to Florida, where he resides now.

His paintings are beautifully crafted fantasy scenes that tell a story in great detail with every piece. Since he discovered how to use digital programs to enhance his work even more, he discovered more avenues to distribute and display his work. Roberts artwork can be found everywhere from books, to greeting card, to role-playing games, and much more. It is his use of color and composition that make his work stand out among other illustration artists. He is able to bring fantasy characters to life in a way that can often make the audience feel as if it were real. That can often mean a sale for a book or game.

Unicorn Summer
Roberts brings to life mythical creatures such as the unicorn in Unicorn Summer, or the Pegasus. Legend like Arthur become real characters in King Arthur Returns. The Archangel Haniel can be admired in bright hues that are his unique style. You can even look for all the details in a purely original piece like Emerald City, where a fairy rides a tiger. Let your own imagination run wild as you browse through the Steve Roberts art gallery.
