Karen Zima: Art is Emotional

The Sound of Nature

Karen Zima is an American artist born in the Northeast and still lives there today. She began to show a passion for art at a young age, winning her first art prize at only the age of ten. She works primarily in oil paints, acrylics and pastels.  Photography is also a passion that she enjoys experimenting in. Zima worked for a brief period in advertising, doing the design side for big corporations, but then decided to pursue her own artist vision full time.

Her unique style combine bright colors, with abstract shapes and movement. Many of her subjects include abstract portraits or contemporary landscapes. She believes that her art is imbued with the emotions used to create it. This makes it the ultimate expression of feelings. She hopes that these emotions connect with her audience on a deeper level. To quote the artist, “My work is both a reflection and expression of myself. It is my lifeline.” That is why she uses such bold colors, to bring that passion to the canvas.

In the Karen Zima gallery, we have tried to offer a variety of the artists’ beautiful works. Admire the surreal view of the mountains in The Sound of Nature. You can gaze at the unique beauty captured in the portraits of Soft and Powerful and My Colors Run Deep.  Let the creativeness of her Falling to Pieces mesmerize your friends and family. Any of this wonderful artist’s works will add energy and emotion to the atmosphere of your home.
