Collier (January 27 1850 – April 11, 1934) was a leading English artist and author. He studied painting at the Munich Academy. His work was done in the Pre-Raphaelite Style. Collier was considered to be one of the most prominent portrait painters of his generation. The Dictionary of Portrait Painters in Britain up to 1920 describes his portraits as “painterly works with a fresh use of light and colour”.
