Diego Rivera was born in Mexico in 1886. He studied painting from an early age and in 1907 moved to Paris. When in Paris, Rivera encountered the works of great masters such as Cezanne, Gauguin and Matisse. Rivera was intrigued by Cubism and Picasso's works, but he was looking for a new form of painting, one that could express the intricacies of his time and still reach a wide audience. It was not until he began to study the frescoes of the Renaissance that he found his inspiration. Rivera returned to Mexico in 1921, where he continued his prolific career as an artist.

I'm 32 and in my first house I didnt want to buy printed copies of art work. I want real texture, real paint on canvas but cant afford gallery pieces. I was thrilled with quality and will continue to purchase. It may not be the original painter but its good to know that instead of buying a print I am getting a piece from an artist that can duplicate very well.
